Due to the increased interest in our conference, SEMSS has already reached capacity two months ahead of the conference and we will unfortunately have to close our registration. If you submitted an abstract, oral presentation, or undergraduate travel award application you'll be hearing back about that decision within the coming weeks. You'll still have an opportunity to register for SEMSS at that time, if you haven't already.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience! It is wonderful that our conference is growing so much each year but the extent of this growth was unexpected. We'll aim to better accommodate that growth in the future.

We look forward to seeing those of you who are registered to attend in November

for our biggest SEMSS meeting yet!

This year's conference features increased presentation openings and opportunities to interact with renowned physician-scientists in academia, government, and healthcare technology and consulting positions. Please see our Program Agenda for further details.

Deadlines for abstract and undergraduate travel award submissions have passed.

Symposium Information

This year's SEMSS conference will be hosted by students in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Emory University, and will be jointly organized with MSTP students from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and Vanderbilt University. This conference is open to all current MD/PhD, MD, and PhD students, as well as undergraduates interested in pursuing physician-scientist careers. Physician-scientist residents, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty are also invited to attend.

Accommodations are available at the Emory Conference Center hotel and may be purchased through the courtesy link here at a rate of $129/night. These rooms will be available on a rolling basis so it is in attendees' best interests to reserve a room at their earliest convenience.

Another option is the Doubletree on North Druid Hills Road. There is not a SEMSS group rate at the Doubletree at this time, but this may become an option if the Emory Conference Center rooms are full. Please email avester@emory.edu with any questions.
